It may seem like CBD is an overnight sensation, but the truth is that the industry has been buzzing behind the scenes since the 1940s.
And now that it’s legal in most states (check your local laws to confirm legality in your state), CBD seems to be everywhere.
It’s in soaps, hand lotions, gummies, and elixirs.
So it begs the question, how did CBD successfully usher in a new era of wellness. And that’s exactly what we’re going to cover in today’s post.
Collective Assimilation
Long before CBD became legalized in most states, we heard about it on the news. The public’s perception of cannabis went from hippy to hip — but it didn’t happen overnight.
Things have been changing slowly for a long time, and most everyone has loosened their attitude towards medicinal cannabis and CBD.
CBD became popular at first because it was trendy, but it maintained its status at the forefront of a wellness movement because it’s effective and has very few side effects.
Unlike THC, CBD has no psychoactive properties. This means that even some people who are sensitive to cannabis can get some of its effects through CBD. They should also be able to pass a drug test.
CBD Uses
Because CBD can be used for such a wide array of ailments, many people are giving it a go. Whether you suffer from migraines or insomnia, CBD might just solve your problems. There’s so much that CBD addresses, from research and anecdotally, that many people find it helpful for something. You may purchase CBD for headaches and find that, for you, it works better to help you get to sleep.
This type of broad appeal has more and more people self-medicating instead of going to the doctor. And as we’ve seen this begin with CBD, there’s an entire movement of natural wellness that’s taking some of the share traditional medicine once owned.
Today, many more people are opting to address minor symptoms with natural supplements and dietary changes. And we can say that CBD’s popularity sat at the forefront of this movement. It certainly wasn’t CBD alone, but we can’t ignore the impact CBD has had on the wellness industry.
It has certainly paved the way for similar natural substances like kratom to gain a foothold in the market. Popular kratom capsules are made directly from plants just like CBD, but kratom reacts differently in the body and is often used for mental clarity or to relieve pain.
If it seems like CBD is everywhere today, that’s probably because it is. You may even be able to grab some CBD oil at your local health food store on one of your daily errands. Cannabis has become much more mainstream, and we can expect that this trend will only continue as time passes.
So, what do you think about CBD’s role in natural wellness trends? Do you feel like you are more or less likely to opt for natural treatments now that you’ve tried CBD?
