How Much Cannabis Can You Possess in New York?

Adults 21 and older may possess up to 3 ounces of cannabis flower and up to 24 grams of cannabis concentrate. This is a higher possession limit than most states and reflects New York’s approach to reducing low-level cannabis arrests.

Possessing more than 3 ounces but less than 16 ounces is a civil violation with a fine. Over 16 ounces carries misdemeanor or felony charges depending on quantity.
