Wil Ralston is the President of SinglePoint (OTCQB: SING), a publicly-traded cannabis and technology holding company specializing in acquisitions of small to mid-sized companies with an emphasis on mobile technologies and emerging markets.
We recently invited Wil for a Q&A session to talk about his background and his company SinglePoint.
Ganjly: What is your background and what made you decide to pursue a career in cannabis?
Wil Ralston: I have always been an entrepreneur my first business was selling flowers, specifically roses. Rosehearts was my first highly successful company and we started the trend of selling single stick roses into convenience stores and grocery stores all over the US.
Ganjly: How many employees does SinglePoint have and what kind of traits do you look for when hiring new members?
Wil Ralston: Currently, we have 5 employees. We look to hire people that inspire us, think outside the box, and promote innovation of new ideas. Individuals that are not afraid to jump in getting in the game and push forward.
Ganjly: What is the most challenging experience you have had in the cannabis industry so far?
Wil Ralston: We were rolling really well in placing terminals at dispensaries for our subsidiary SingleSeed, it seemed as if overnight everything got shut off and we had essentially zero accounts processing.
Ganjly: What is your proudest moment since you started down this path of being an entrepreneur in the cannabis space?
Wil Ralston: We are very proud that we have been able to continue to launch and release new products consistently over the course of the last 3-4 years. It’s been a tremendous effort for our team to keep on top of the ever-changing landscape and continue to stay relevant throughout.
Ganjly: Do you have plans for new products, services or events and would you be willing to drop any hints about what we can expect from your company in the future?
Wil Ralston: The newest service set to launch in just a few weeks is LastMile Delivery. The service is currently in beta and we believe it will be the first service to allow any cannabis business to make deliveries easily and efficiently as we are working with the state guidelines and regulations set for. Businesses will be able to track and see in real time where their drivers are and customers will be notified and provided a live view and eta of their delivery as well.
Ganjly: What is your advice for hopeful cannabis entrepreneurs who are considering joining the cannabis industry? What are the positives and negatives they should expect?
Wil Ralston: Start now, this is the time where everyone still has an opportunity to jump into the burgeoning industry and create and viable successful business. It’s still small, comparatively, which is a positive. On the negative front, its new laws and regulations are a constant battle. You could be rolling one day and a law changes and you are back to square one.
Thank you, Wil for taking the time out to talk to us despite your busy schedule!
