Sarah Remesch is a digital marketer, advertiser, and creative who started her career developing strategies, executing campaigns, and managing production.
After her experience in-house at globally recognized agencies, Sarah founded 270M, a boutique creative and digital marketing shop which focuses on luxury and cannabis brands.
As 270M expanded into the cannabis space, Viride came to fruition to live as a content hub for brands to connect with an affluent audience of consumers.
Her combined background in big media with her bespoke approach to creative development has allowed Sarah to continually morph as a digital professional in an ever-changing landscape.
Ganjly: What is your background and what made you decide to pursue a career in cannabis?
Sarah Remesch: I’m a media professional— from advertising to production, I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in a variety of campaigns for a range of clients. I founded 270M on the basis of working with luxury clients and saw an opportunity to expand our categories into cannabis. We still maintain a strong basis of clients outside of cannabis and choose to work with cannabrands who share missions similar to ours in elevating the conversation.
Ganjly: How many employees do you have and what kind of traits do you look for when hiring new members?
Sarah Remesch: Collectively 270M and Viride have seven. When looking for new people to join the team, I am always interested in finding people who are eager, entrepreneurial, and organized. Everyone works remotely and I’m based in Manhattan which poses challenges when finding the next hire, but it also allows us to remain agile in different markets.
Ganjly: What is the most challenging experience you have had in the cannabis industry so far?
Sarah Remesch: Federal regulation’s impact on mainstream advertising opportunities… A typical brand that we can run Facebook or Instagram advertising for doesn’t have that privilege and may never, so we have to find unconventional ways to expand reach. Although a challenge, this also pushes me to create and integrate cannabis in a way brand advocates can relate to as part of their daily routines.
Ganjly: What is 270M and Viride?
Sarah Remesch: 270M is a boutique marketing, advertising, and creative shop for luxury and cannabis brands. Viride is an online lifestyle publication where cannabis consumers or people interested in learning more about incorporating cannabis can gather digestible information from wellness to products that they should include in their stash.
Ganjly: Do you have plans for new products, services or events and would you be willing to drop any hints about what we can expect from your companies in the future?
Sarah Remesch: Yes! We will be venturing into the product and CBD space before the end of the year. There is also an invite-only cocktail event in July at a secret location in New York that is in the works, which is really exciting. Viride recently launched a wellness section that will be growing over the spring and summer as us East Coasters come out of hibernation. Ganjly: What is your advice for hopeful cannabis entrepreneurs who are considering joining the cannabis industry? What are the positives and negatives they should expect?
Sarah Remesch: Be patient and be open to lending a hand to others who help you along the way. Stay in it for the long-run, many successful individuals are willing to help you learn without an expectation for return. Don’t forget those people no matter if you fail or triumph in your business.
